"Laura Gale has created a world inside EBTG, and she's done it on her own terms. She may be a bit of a rebel, but she's a respectful one...respectful of diversity, art, good business sense and ethics, and the power of change."

-Mary Catherine Coolidge, Sarasota Downtown & Beyond

 Story of a Girl

Opened in April 2005, everything but the girl very quickly seemed like a familiar place to shop and hang out. Thanks to the support of family, friends and the local arts community, "ebtg" has earned a real name for itself. Representing over 80 local artists and designers, ebtg customers know they can support all aspects "buy indie, buy local" when they shop here. Most all our artists' works are exclusive to ebtg.

Introduced in July 2007, ebtg has a groovy collection of vintage clothing and accessories being offered to its customers. "New" pieces arrive regularly and ebtg is known for clothing in excellent condition and with excellent prices.

ebtg is excited to offer on-going creative workshops presented by shop favorites like Kelley Love Designs, as well as other EBTG artists. See details on what's coming up next on the "events. etc." page.

It is true that owner Laura Daniel Gale was inspired to name the shop after her favorite band, English pop duo Everything but the Girl. Since that group took its name from a shop in England, it seemed appropriate to make it a shop again! So if you were thinking "That name sounds familiar," that is why!
